Red Ribbed Hat Begins

The beginning of a Ribbed Hat from Cottage Creations (Projects For Community Knitting).  They are the warmest hats I know.  One great thing is they are so long.  The adult medium which I'm making is knit in 4x4 rib for 13 inches before decreasing for the top.  That  gives a brim that folds up to give full, extra protection for the ears...especially important for those living on the street.
